Money Magic! Share, Spend and Save at Your Credit Union
Promoting the financial health of our youngest members
Providing financial education embodies the movement’s ‘people-helping-people’ philosophy. The theme for this year’s Youth Month is “Money Magic. Share, Spend and Save at Your Credit Union.” Together, we’re encouraging our youngest members to learn common financial concepts kids should understand:
-
Saving
-
Spending
-
Charitable giving
-
Investing
-
Budgeting
In April, we’re encouraging all members, particularly our youngest, to make a plan for their money that includes sharing, spending, and saving. Understanding how to allocate money for different purposes—including long-term savings goals—while working within a budget will help lay the groundwork for their future success.
To encourage youth to more actively use and understand their money, we're offering these bonuses during the month of April:
-
Open a new youth membership and we’ll match your first $25 deposit!1
-
Already a young member? We’ll match your first deposit in April up to $10!2
-
Get a $50 Bonus for opening a FREE Student Checking Account3
Our 3Point Checking accounts include a debit card, mobile and online banking, remote deposit capture, online BillPayer, and unlimited surcharge-free access to 70,000+ ATMs nationwide through the CUHere ATM Network. Open an account by April 30, 2020 and receive a $50 bonus.3
Looking for something to do with your kids? Our partners at CUNA (Credit Union National Association) have links to help teach your children about the importance of saving and money management. For all ages, read how to Train Your Kids to Save or additional articles in our Financial Resource Center. For little ones, try these pre-school activities. The Spending Game Plan gives older kids the ability to visualize their budget and learn how to manage their cash.
